*CANCELED* Name Change Workshop @ CU Boulder’s TRANSforming Gender Conference – March 14, 2020

Statement from the TRANSforming Gender Conference:
Dear TGC participants,
We are canceling the TRANSforming Gender Conference scheduled for March 14-15 due to ongoing concerns related to COVID-19, including the declaration of a state of emergency by Gov. Jared Polis. We apologize for the inconvenience this will cause many of you. As this public health concern continues, canceling the conference is the only responsible action we can take to ensure the health, safety and well-being of participants. You may find regular updates about the campus response to coronavirus and ways to protect yourself at colorado.edu/coronavirus.
We do have some good news for you. The TRANSforming Gender Conference is moving to November, so you will not need to wait another year for our next event. We are permanently moving the conference to November in order to place it closer to Trans Awareness Week where we can take advantage of national efforts to increase education around transgender issues and identities. Further, moving the conference allows our trans and allied students to make connections with our trans community sooner in the academic year to better support them as they navigate their arrival at CU Boulder. Lastly, we hope TGC in November will serve as a support for all of trans and allied community as we move into the holiday season where so many of us struggle with belonging, support and families. With these reasons in mind we are very much looking forward to this move and being able to see you all again sooner than you thought.
We will be following up with more information regarding dates for November later in the spring.
We will miss seeing you all this weekend and greatly appreciate all of the work our presenters put into their presentations and sincerely hope that we will be able to hear them in November.
